>>The Salzburg Chamber Soloists<<
In 1991 the violinist Lavard Skou-Larsen decided to found a chamber orchestra
with a handful of excellent colleagues, with the aim of playing chamber music
with an orchestra but with the freedom of a soloist.
Skou-Larsen sought in
Austria, in Europe and on all continents and so he unified a group of dauntless
instrumentalists. The unforgettable Sandor Vengh, whose charisma has drastically
shaped quite a few members of the group, served as a role model.
The continuing excellent critiques led the orchestra to South America – featured as the “best foreign orchestra of the year” at the Téatro Colon in Argentina – to the United States and Canada as well as to many European festivals, all the way to the middle east.
